American Gods – Review



American Gods like many other works of Neil Gaiman is a story composed of numerous other stories inside of it, in this case those stories are the mythologies of all the immigrants that came and made modern America as it’s known today. Moreover, we also get a short but very pleasant vignette in nearly each episode of the show showcasing this.

American gods at its core is about the journey of ex-con Shadow Moon and his new boss Mr. Wednesday, a journey  from the normal world into a new mythological and gore world. And at times his dullness may be a little bit annoying for my taste but he still manages his way through; and what at first seems like a battle royal between old and new gods turns out as a social critique to American culture by addressing the dark past of slavery, racism, gun laws etc.
